This year’s seasonal pantomime from the Murwillumbah Theatre Company is ‘Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves’ by Ben Crocker. In sunny Baghdad we meet Ali Baba, who is down on his luck and in love with our the lovely Safiya who is a slave girl in Ali’s brother’s household. But Ali’s luck changes when he stumbles across a magnificent cave of treasures. But as you’d expect, the villainous Sheikh Mustafa Leikh and his band of incompetent forty thieves (no wait that’s now 35 thieves) are waiting in the wings ready to scupper Ali’s plans and receive plenty of boos along the way!
So come and join the Baba family and friends (including Kamil, the dancing camel and Mum Baba, our beloved dame) through the twists and turns of a great story as they head towards the inevitable happy ending. With plenty of songs to sing along to, plenty of chances for audience participation and of course, laugh out loud moments galore, this is a show not to be missed!
Ali Baba will show at the Murwillumbah Civic Centre on Friday, October 14 at 7.30pm, Saturday, October 15 at 5.30pm, Sunday, October 16 at 2pm, Saturday, October 22 at 5.30pm, Sunday, October 23 at 2pm, Saturday, October 29 at 7.30pm and Sunday, October 30 at 2pm.
