This poignant and comedic play was written by David Stevens in 1990, and was the third and best known play in his “Currency Trilogy”. The Sum of Us was made into a – now classic – film starring Russell Crowe and Jack Thompson in 1994. The play explores the relationship between an old widower and his gay son, both who are looking for love, and follows along the themes of romance, conflict and tragedy.
The Sum of Us will be staged at Murwillumbah Civic Centre on 23 July – 2 August.
