About

Murwillumbah Theatre Company is a ‘not for profit’ community theatre group operating for over 30 years and provides cultural opportunities for the Tweed community through live theatre.

All productions are undertaken on a volunteer basis, using local skills. MTC usually puts on 3-4 productions each year including an end of year pantomime.

We are also involved in bringing some of the best touring shows and productions for both old and young to the Tweed area. Over the years we have seen the likes of Opera Australia, South Australia’s Windmill Theare as well as Bell Shakespeare Company, just to mention a few.

Many members have considerable skills and experience in theatre. They not only provide the basis for good theatre productions, but also a considerable resource for training. In addition to acting, each production requires people skilled in directing, costumes, stage management, set design and construction, sound, lighting, front of house, publicity, and writing.

New members are always welcome to join MTC and can do so by completing the contact form on this website.

Whilst MTC is ‘community theatre’ we strive to achieve professional standards.

MTC is not just a bunch of locals who want to stage amateur theatricals.
