Everybody NOW! and Feros Care have joined forces to create a new poetry and film making project for people aged 70 years and over.
We’re looking for seniors with a declaration to make, a voice to be heard, an opinion to be penned. We’re hoping we could send you some information to share among your members, community & networks. Would there be an email address we could share this to?
Throughout a series of free workshops, selected participants will work alongside experienced poet and performer David Stavanger, to write and perform poetry that moves and inspires.
The poets will then create a performance of their newly crafted pieces with David and Everybody NOW! Director Ian Pidd and a short film with the support of talented team at Art-work Agency. The film will be premiered at a Feros Care bespoke event at the renowned Byron Writers Festival.
David Stavanger is an award winning and widely published poet and writer who has directed and featured in major festivals, often under the alias of Ghostboy, including Queensland Poetry Festival, Brisbane Writers Festival, and Sydney Writers Festival, among many. He is also the co-editor of the first ever Australian & New Zealand spoken word anthology Solid Air (UQP, forthcoming 2019).
No experience is necessary rather an enthusiasm and passion to give voice to your ideas and experiences.
Gran Slam is open to people from the Gold Coast, Northern Rivers and surrounding regions.
Workshops will be held on the Southern Gold Coast.
